Women Hurt Most by Cost of Health Care, Insurance

Women with health insurance are more likely than men to go without needed care because they can’t afford their share of the costs, a new report shows.

The Kaiser Family Foundation report is one of several calling attention to the increasing difficulty women have keeping up with health care costs.

The problem is nationwide, but data show it is especially acute in Tucson and Arizona, where more residents are uninsured and where average income is lower than for the nation as a whole.

In 2004, one in six women nationwide with health insurance postponed or went without needed care, the Kaiser report says.

Thirty-nine percent of women with insurance have difficulty paying their medical bills, compared with 29 percent of men, says a new report from the National Women’s Law Center.

Dose McCain care about women health in this country ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N_UfQVuvXo

John McCain showed he doesn't care about women's health when he described protecting "the health of the woman as "extreme. John McCain doesn't seem to understand that women's health matters. He blatantly showed that he doesn't trust women to decide what is in the best interest of their own health. Barack Obama, on the other hand, stood up for women's health. What say you?

I have also read in the bills that the funding for this is not to be included in the function that will force the automatic spending cuts. This is just a ruse used to deceive the American Taxpayers to say it “won’t add to the national debt”. I do not want my taxes raised for myself and my grand kids to the 10th generation to pay for this fiscal irresponsibility!

They haven’t done so well with Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid. Do you think they can do any better with health care?

  6. ladyjade001 says:

I have READ both the House and Senate versions of the “health care reform” bills. It all boils down to a “single payer” system within 5 years! I have heard OB and other ultra liberal democrats say, with their own words and out of their own mouths, they want a “single payer system and that it will have to be phased in”. I am not stupid. This, so called, revision is the first step in “single payer”.

Don’t try to pass it off as FREE, BECAUSE IT IS NOT! I saw with my own two eyes the $5,000 and $10,000 out of pocket expenses the first year and the fact that the amounts will GO UP every year (rounded UP to the nearest $100.00).

I am a Concerned American Taxpayer of the United States of America, not the United SOCIALIST State of America.

What do you think just printing more money does? It DECREASES the value of the dollar! Which means everything gets more expensive! We are in such deep debt to china right now that they won’t lend us any more money because they know we can’t pay back what we’ve already borrowed.

planned parenthood sounds perfect for you- you probably will be able to get at least a discount, if not free services and they will cover all types of female health, even primary care, physicals, immunizations, prenatal care, and diabetes screenings. the one where i live has a bus stop right in front so you can probably take your local bus or some sort of public transportation to your clinic. check them out here: http://www.plannedparenthood.org

no it is because my brother is a doctor and the medical profession acts like the diamond industry. There are many medical students not allowed into medical schools. in that way they hamper doctors, also the old doctors had to diagnose now there are tests that are o expensive doctors cant pay for them and insurance companies wont pay for them. I am not for the current healthcare bill, I am for changing the old boy type medical profession.

Smear testing, I am pregnant with my 4th child, I have NEVER had a smear. I know that's bad, but I just never liked the idea for obvious reasons, and i've never been pushed to have one.

I think things have only improved by a small margin. The Afghans still have the one of the worst healthcare systems in the world.
